I'm So Famous

"I'm So Famous" is the first single from American R&B singer, Joi, from her fourth album ''Tennessee Slim Is the Bomb''. Recorded in 2004, the song was one of few songs chosen to lead the album for its Fall 2004 release on Raphael Saadiq's boutique label Pookie Entertainment. The album's release was delayed due to issues within the label and the single's release was canceled.〔(Joi Interview )〕 After an amicable leave from the label, Gilliam made preparation's for the album's release in late 2005 through her own label Joilicious Music. In October 2005, "I'm So Famous" made a strong debut on college & internet radio. Nearly three months after the release of ''Tennessee Slim Is the Bomb'', it would debut on mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop radio outlets. Receiving little airplay, digital sales for the single were strong becoming Gilliam's second best selling single to date.〔(Joi Biography )〕
